I am pretty picky when it comes to Ice Cream and Gelato. In fact I had a recent guest leave a TUB of Turkey Hill Chocolate Ice cream after his stay at my place. I took one taste of it and that airy waxy cloy taste hit my tongue and that Ice Cream hit the trash bin. Not to mention the crap that is in it, says all natural but the ingredients say far from it.

You will not however experience any of that with the Gelato di Babbo line of Gelato's. I have been following Kim Zanni journey bringing Gelato di Babbo to the public and I had to find out for myself.

I picked up the two they had at Whole Food the "Pure Pistachio" and the "Super Dark Chocolate" Now I am a huge fan of Pistachio Ice cream and from the first bite I could taste the essence of Pistachio. Meaning there was this gorgeous creamy canvas that the Pistachio flavor was hovering over in perfect balance.

The Super Dark Chocolate I just fell in love with, for me its the consistency and this one is velvety smooth with a deep rich chocolate flavor but not to sweet which I find most American Ice Cream/Gelatos are way to sweet this was again a perfect balance.

I recommend seeking out a retailer who has this and give it a try. I am looking forward to my next flavors.
