This one is not to be looked over. It is excellent on fish, chicken, all red meats and you can even just slam it in a cup and drink it with a straw. It's that good. Anyhow its easy, make lots and store it in the freezer and some in the fridge so you always have it ready.

Take the onions. oil and garlic and sweat them for about 4 min in a pot. Now add the tomatoes and simmer for 15 min, now add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 45 min. Now transfer to a blender and puree until smooth, put in a bowl to let cool. This is tangy, sweet with some heat I think you’re gonna really enjoy this one folks.

  1. Lori says:

loved the sauce...molasses is repeated twice in recipe. i understood it as a typo. had to to improvise because i didn't have a spanish onion and no chilpote however i did let it simmer with a split serrano for heat...and even though the youngest doesn't appreciate smoked paprika, she loved it. its a good one. cheers.
ps was only going to add a titch of j.d. but went for the "good splash"

Hello Lori, thank you for pointing that out it will be corrected. Adding JD is always a good idea especially when you accidentally add to much :)

      Thanks
