This may be a work in progress or it may be done I’m not sure yet but here is some of my favorite flavors all together in one place. Please let me know your thoughts on presentation. I can assure you it tasted amazing! This one reminds me and I hate to say it to my Canadian friends of this chocolate cake with raspberry compote that Earls Restaurant used to have…..wow did I just write that.

2 servings

Ingredients

  • Strawberry compote
  • Egg roll wrappers
  • Mascarpone cheese
  • Chocolate ganache
  • Chopped toasted almonds

Directions

Start by making the chocolate mascarpone. Make the ganache first then add equal parts of ganache and mascarpone and mix together and chill now set aside some of the chocolate ganache aside as you will need this later.

Take your egg roll wrapper and put some of the strawberry compote along one side and wrap. Now deep fry in canola oil @ 375 degrees until golden brown about 2 min. Take out and let drain. Cut it in two on a serious bias, take that ganache that you have aside and dip one side of the cigar into the ganache and sprinkle some of the chopped toasted almonds on top.

Now with the chocolate mascarpone we have made take a tablespoon of it and smear the side of a bowl with it. Take some of the strawberry compote and place a little on the bottom of the bowl. Lay the cigar on top and do some other nice presentation like a paint brush or chocolate…and EAT!

Enjoy.
