Watch me explain how to save your bad plane food experience

Ok kids here I am in coach on Continental flight 112 EWR to LRH (now United) last row 40 all to myself. I always check the load before I book ticket, if there is a row open I'm hitting coach, this ticket $475 round trip VS $4500 for business class, think of what you can do with all that extra money I mean $4000 if someone said here sit in this chair for 7 hours and Ill give you $4000 would you do it. ....don't even say anything I know the answer.

This gives me a chance to set up my office, do some work and if I had time eat some food that I brought with me but sometimes your late, its last min so what do you do when you hear those words "Chicken or Beef... oh sorry sir we are out of the beef you're the last one" well you take the chicken and you fix it up.

Here is the lay of the land here:

We have the hockey puck bun, the over sweet Italian dressing (Italy should sue over using the word Italian in the name), some sort of chemical brownie, the chicken parm on pasta and a typical American salad of iceberg, tomato slice of cucumber and cheap cheddar cheese. How the hell are we gonna make this something enjoyable.(ok those two vodkas did help)

This is a good start and a must have to pack at anytime, great for plane food and even hotel food. Fresh cracked pepper and good sea salt can make all the difference in bringing out any good flavor of food. Stop using those powdery packets of salt and pepper its like salty lint on your food.

Season the salad with lots of fresh cracked pepper and add only a little of the sweet dressing and perhaps a touch of fresh ground sea salt. As for the chicken and pasta I doused it with pepper powder and lots of Saracha sauce and it was good to go. For that hockey puck bun I took the tomato and stuffed inside with some of the cheese and made a little snack sandwich for later.

So its that easy just make sure to pack the following you wont regret it:

  • Fresh cracked Pepper and Salt mills $1.75 each
  • Tabasco Sauce (a must, good for in room cocktails)
  • Saracha Sauce , if your heading to Europe hard to find sometimes and can save shoe leather if it had too
  • Crushed or Powdered Chili flakes
  • Chili Sesame Oil (I like it hot, its good for you and can kill that layer of bad food so its just texture and heat)
  • Small honey bear , better than sugar and great on cheese that you steal ...uh i mean enjoy in the lounge
  • Homemade granola mix (trust me if its real bad you will survive on this)
  • Small bottle of olive oil (skip the butter, olive oil a little sea salt on a bun and yes!)

That's it kids next time your in plane food hell this might help you out.
