3 Ayran (Yogurt Drink)
Sep 03
Here is an excellent, refreshing and VERY healthy drink for summer and one that I enjoy when eating some good kebabs in Lebanon. It's simple to make and since the yogurt is the most important component, make sure to use a good one. When I'm in the US I pick up some really great Greek yogurt, but in Lebanon we use labneh, which is another type of yogurt we use to make this drink.

Benny...this drink reminds me of my grandmother in Croatia....she used to give me and my brother and a glass of cold "sour milk," (not butter milk...because the cream was taken off earlier that morning to make butter) ...it was brought up from the cold cellar... she added a pinch of salt...I loved that afternoon snack on a hot summer's day......and still get some buttermilk and drink it however seldom...because I forget how tasty it is..
