Before the photographs
The music was done. Now someone had to take the pictures.
After helping complete Unfinished Business, the Eric Carr collection released in 2011, Benny was interviewed by KISS Army Argentina. The fans wanted something more than words: new photographs and a personal message.

— Benny DoroThere was no studio, stylist, or formal press call. The setting was Benny's apartment—Version 1—on the Hudson waterfront in West New York.
The photographer may have been a neighbor. It may have been somebody recruited in the elevator. What mattered was getting the pictures made without making them look like selfies.

Hey everybody. So it was just after November 2011. I think this is probably actually closer to January 2012, when the press was going on for Eric Carr's Unfinished Business, which I had helped do some production on.
I did a remake of “Eyes of Love,” which I did from just vocal tracks, which was kind of fun. I had the drummer from Cinderella play on it. That was kind of cool.
And they did a bunch of interviews all over the place, and one of them was KISS Army Argentina. So I did a written interview for them, and they asked me to do some photos and send them so they could put them in for the article.
So this is a set I did. Had somebody come over and just snap some pictures. It might have been a neighbor, even. I grabbed just somebody in the elevator: “Hey, I need some pictures taken. I don't want to look like I'm taking a stupid selfie.”
So I took all these pictures at my place in West New York, New Jersey. Version one of my place. There's two versions—two different apartments, two different buildings, same complex. That's another story.
